Finnair is one of the world’s oldest running airlines and it was reaching an iconic milestone, its 100th anniversary. We had a booked front page media space, but how do you put 100 years into one print ad? You don’t.
Idea
We put 100 years into an entire newspaper. We did a takeover with Helsingin Sanomat – Finland’s national newspaper, to showcase our centenary journey. And we didn’t stop there. We found from our archives the most iconic pieces of Finnair’s adverts from every decade and significant milestones.

We wanted the whole world to see Finnair’s magical journey, so we brought these vintage adverts and designs to life and put the best pieces together into a cheerful animation, that took over social media and outdoor advertising.
